How we’re responding to the Canada Post Strike
A Canada Post strike during the holiday season can be stressful. We are committed to minimizing the impact to our clients. Here’s how we’re responding.
We have established partnerships with a network of carrier partners outside of Canada Post. We leverage these carrier partners for the majority of our deliveries and will continue to leverage them as much as possible to minimize the impact of the Canada Post job action.
What is Impacted
In-Transit Shipments: delays are expected for all shipments currently within the Canada Post network. If a gift has already been shipped with Canada Post, it may be delayed reaching the recipient.
PO Box Deliveries: Currently there are no alternative carriers with full P.O. box coverage. We recommend ensuring you send gifts only to recipients with physical addresses so that we can send them with an alternative carrier. If we notice a P.O. Box address on your recipient list, we will contact you to discuss possible alternatives.
Rural Deliveries: Currently there are no alternative carriers with full rural coverage. If you are shipping a gift to a very remote rural address, it will likely be impacted by service disruption. If we don’t have an alternative carrier option to any address on your recipient list, we will let you know and discuss alternative arrangements.
USA Deliveries: Gifts shipping from our Ontario warehouse to a destination in the United States will be sent via alternative couriers and will not be affected by the strike. There are no alternative carriers for gifts shipping from our BC warehouse to a destination in the United States. To ensure delivery without delay, we recommend selecting a gift from our Ontario warehouse for your US recipients.
International Deliveries: Currently there are no alternative carriers shipping to destinations outside of North America. If you are shipping a gift to an international destination, it will be impacted by the Canada Post strike.
